Is a locksmith cheaper than a Jeep dealer?
Usually yes, and the larger difference is time — a dealer typically wants the vehicle brought to them and quotes days, while we come to the car and finish on site. For Jeep we originate keys in-house, so a dealer trip is not needed.
My Jeep key has started sticking in the ignition. Is that the key?
Often it is not — it is the ignition cylinder wearing out, and a new key will not fix it. If the key needs a jiggle, a particular angle or two hands to turn, get it looked at before it strands you. A rebuild costs the same whether you do it now or after it fails; doing it after also costs you a tow.
